Full black calf with gilt stamped decoration and lettering, all edges gilt. Binding partly faded, extremities rubbed, hinges starting to split, sporadic light foxing. £75.00

9. Good, J.M., Gregory, O. and Bosworth, N. Pantologia. A New Cyclopaedia, comprehending a complete series of essays, treatises, and systems, alphabetically arranged; with a general dictionary of arts, sciences, and words.... London, printed for G.Kearsley Etc, 1813. 1st ed. 12 vols. 24.0 x 15.0 cms. 372 plates of which 186 are hand coloured. 1/2 calf with marbled paper-covered boards. Vols 1, 3, 6 and 9 have the original spine relaid, the other volumes have later, but not new, antique style calf spines. All spines have gilt decoration and lettering. Corners rubbed. Owner's bookplate on pastedown of vol 1. One colour plate torn without loss, a few closed tears to text pages, some foxing sometimes marked on un-coloured plates. Most coloured plates are of natural history subjects and are in clean condition although with some offsetting. This is a complete set with all plates called for and coloured where appropriate. £990.00

Pp. viii, 107, (4 publisher's ads). 12 hand-coloured plates with tissue guards. Original blind and giltstamped cloth, all edges gilt. Spine relaid, lettering on spine faded, fore corners rubbed. £175.00

Bound in contemporary 1/2 calf with marbled paper-covered boards. Extremities rubbed, some slight darkening of paper, occasional slight foxing, upper board of vol 1 detached, loss to some spines, some damage to some spines. Lacking all portrait frontispieces, however containing 833 hand coloured plates out of 1031 called for. Includes mammalia, ornithology and ichthology. Sold as a collection of plates. £2000.00

Extremities rubbed, spine ends slightly frayed, inner hinges split, upper board bubbled, both boards soiled and with slight insect (?) damage, "Indian Field" stamp on 2nd blank, owner's details on front free end paper. Contemporary 1/2 calf with marbled paper-covered boards. Spine relaid, some rubbing, page 1 torn with some loss of text, a few other pages with small closed tears, first few leaves dampstained, occasional offsetting. Occasional soiling quite marked on the last plate, spine slightly skewed. A scarce and interesting book. £150.00

We will be showing a selection of our gardening, farming and natural history at the PBFA book fair at CASE Building, Royal Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire CV8 2LZ which will be held on 18th April form 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
