The Perlustration of Great Yarmouth, With Gorleston and Southtown [Volume 1 Only]
Description:
Publisher George Nall, Great Yarmouth, 1872, First Edition,
Hard Cover,
Book condition: Fair
Dust Jacket: No Jacket
Hardback, cloth spine spine, marbled boards. Volume 1 only. ix, 403pp. Lacks all of the plates. Some foxing mainly to the prelims and occasionally thereafter. A printers' proof copy complete with the author's corrections in ink to the text and margins. Unfortunately when it was bound the margins have been trimmed, so some of Palmer's comments have been truncated. The inscription on the front pastedown reveals that this was William Finch Crisp's copy. An original 19th century photograph of St. Nicholas's Church has been pasted on the back of the free front end-paper. On the back of the final leaf has been pasted an engraving of Burgh Castle. So a copy with a very interesting provenance.
